We're in the Waxing Gibbous phase this week, building toward the Full Moon in Cancer on January 3rd: the Wolf Moon. First full moon of the year, and it's landing in Cancer's home territory where the Moon actually rules.

This is deeply emotional energy. Cancer wants you safe, wants you fed, wants you to actually feel your feelings instead of just powering through them. The Wolf Moon historically got its name because this is when wolves howled outside villages in the dead of winter: hunger, survival, the things that matter when everything else is stripped away.

WORK WITH IT:

On January 3rd, do ancestor feeding and petition work. Set a glass of water and a white candle at your ancestor altar (or just a clean surface facing west).

Offer milk, honey, bread, the old foods.

Speak your petition out loud: protection over your home, prophetic dreams, opened roads, whatever you need. The Full Moon in Cancer amplifies the connection between worlds, so this is prime time to get the dead on your side.

Let it sit overnight, then pour the water at your doorstep in the morning to seal it.

Or if you're more into divination, this moon is wicked for prophetic dreaming. Anoint your third eye with mugwort oil or tea, and sleep with mugwort, bay leaf, and lavender under your pillow.

Write down whatever you remember in the morning, even if it seems like nonsense.

It usually isn't.

Mugwort, lavender, and bay leaf for divination work. White candles and milk for ancestor veneration. Labradorite, moonstone, or azurite to amplify psychic sight.
